I am considering becoming a teacher but didn't realize that teachers are also subject to pay freezes in addition to the low pay they receive for their work. On top of having to fund their own (extensive) professional development. It seems like teachers don't get a break. I wonder how many are in massive debt from the cost of their education.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9117832137870855841.post-57313900570867311282021-03-04T05:31:25.584-05:002021-03-04T05:31:25.584-05:00Everything has its value. Traditionally, this meant hitting step 10 or higher - but because of the frozen contract, it is possible to be on only step 6, but still have 10 years of SERVICE in the district. If you are in that situation (and many are) this is a way to get an over $20,000 raise in one year and recoup many of your losses without having to wait until 2020 in order to reach the top salary through simple step increases.George Bezanishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15939075049844808801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9117832137870855841.post-79705677853914947362017-06-21T10:03:05.315-04:002017-06-21T10:03:05.315-04:00What the heck is the loophole?
